review 1: The illustrations in this book are great, and at first it seems like a cute story. But I'd never choose it for a kid. For one thing, there's the image it paints of Matty's art teacher as totally incompetent, who hyperventilates while the kids in the classroom essentially run wild. Mom also doesn't know what to do, so it's Dad who saves the day. I just think some of those impressions may not be good ones to encourage.
review 2: Marty loves glue and creates glue glasses, glue mustaches, and glue bouncy balls at home with his family. When he uses too much glue for a project at school, he nearly becomes a "note-on-my-tummy, melted mummy, clicky bricky, clingy stringy, blucky stucky glue boy." When his dad shows up at school, he's delighted with his son's latest cre... moreation and both solves and celebrates the gluey mess. A fun book that is sure to be a read aloud hit. less
