Synopsis: In Hogun’s nearby land, the enslaved people are being shelled by Mogul from within his crystal Mystic Mountain in which resides the city of Zanadu. Mogul has gone full-on crazy villain blowing the hell out of everything. A servant named Sulibeg gives Mogul a potion with the spotted plague. When Mogul threatens to test it on Sulibeg, Sulibeg cowers. Mogul kicks him and tells him to leave. Then Mogul gets on his flying carpet and actually says to no one in particular how primitive humans will one day refer to his sky craft as a ‘flying carpet’. (I love comics.) He then flies out of his palace towards the battle. Meanwhile Thor, Fandral, and Hogun defeat the last of Mogul’s troops. Now all that is left is Alibar and his 40 demon horsemen. Alibar carries Hogun’s tribe’s standard. Hogun vows they will defeat them all no matter the cost.
Notes: The level of destruction in this part of the story cannot be overstated. Kirby is clearly having fun with this, but it makes Mogul and utterly ridiculous villain.
