review 1: I picked up The Offer as a freebie with no idea of what to expect. I am thrilled with the result. Nina has had a pretty crappy life but has continuously managed to persevere. Raised along with her younger sister by an alcoholic mother with a string of boyfriends and husbands, Nina has been forced to be an adult and carry the weight of responsibility most of her life. While other girls were experiencing crushes and having their first kiss, Nina was fighting off "Uncle Carl" and his advances. When most girls were experiencing college, Nina was waiting tables and raising her teenage sister. As an adult, Nina had thought she found a partner to share her life with and a career that would provide the stability she has longed for. Unfortunately for her, that partner drained all o... moref those hopes and dreams and she is once again back at square one. With life throwing curve balls at her from every angle, she takes another risk to secure the financial security she needs. I loved that Nina is honest and true to herself. She isn't your typical woman facing adversity and feeling down on herself. Nina is the polar opposite of that. She a woman far too honest with herself and those around her. She knows what she brings to the table and is willing to use that to her benefit. I only worry that her heart will suffer as a result. A great start to what I believe with be a great series. Oh and the sex scenes are panty melting. Nothing wrong with that.
review 2: This was a great read. A bit of a departure from Jayne's WLUV series, not what I would classify as romance, not yet anyway! But this novella, is just the introduction to the series to come. I'm loving the main character Nina. She's strong willed, a bit emotionally detached, sexy as hell, but you can tell she has a romantic side buried somewhere. She's traveled the road of hard knox, being abused by her mother's boyfriend at 13, leaving home 16 sixteen and caring for her sister. Through all of that has still managed to have as great attitude. Looking forward to reading about her adventures to come. I would recommend this book. less

It was free, and okay, so that's a bonus. Not enough to pay for the next ones.
