review 1: While the idea of following the adventures of Lydia, the youngest, silliest sister in "Pride and Prejudice", has potential, the author doesn't accomplish it. It's not actually poorly written. It's just one of the few books I've read that was so dull, I lacked the interest to finish it. A disappointment to those of us who would love to be thrown back into Austen's world. Read P. D. James "Death Comes to Pemberley" instead.
review 2: This has been sitting on the shelf for an aaaaaaaaaaaage. Still I have finally got around to it and it was a perfectly acceptable light and fluffy weekend read. ... moreere if the author was trying to to be knowing with the reader or trying to make her more sympathetic. I didn't end up more sympathetic to her, but then I didn't end up wanting to slap her either, I was just fairly indifferent. I'm not sure that's what the author was aiming for. I did think some of the twists and turns were a little far-fetched, but then you've got to create some interest.I liked it, I didn't love it - and I won't necessarily be passing it on to the other Austen readers in my family. less

slow moving, unending, and tedious in her adventures which just go from bad to worse and back again.

As much as i hate being inside Lydia's head, she certainly gets into entertaining positions.
