review 1: Genre: Chick Lit / Contemporary RomanceSensuality: PG-13Heroine is gun-shy after losing her Olympic dreams and her fiancee all in one horrible accident. She is reluctant to get back on the saddle again so she spends her lunch hour every day peeking at this Hottie like clockwork. h's roommate arranges for h to meet the Hottie so that h can see him for what he really is and face reality. h does see that Hottie is a cold, arrogant a-hole but he's so hawt! Is h ever gonna face reality?I had read Haus's previous series (Luminescent Juliet) and liked it but in this case, it didn't necessarily help since this book was so different in tone from that series which is New Adult Rockstar subgenre. In fact, it took over half the bk for me to warm up to the story as the first part read ... moremore like chick-lit and I loathe chick-lit. Every time h talked about her inner Fangirl, I wanted to punch her in the face.The second half was more romantic and Haus won me over with how she redeemed Hottie and the intelligent way she approached h's underlining problems.Grade: B
review 2: Sweet steamy read, wasn't keen on Reese to begin with, not a fan of CEO playboys, but as I read he grew on me slowly, felt for Naomi and how her life had changed but loved her friends, Kara, Jules and Avery and although they were maybe a little misguided they only had the best intentions for her. loads more steam than i thought there would be but not overdone, nice backstory and a few surprises along the way, lovely ending too. but would say you could get another four books out of this story about her friends they all sound interesting with a story to tell especially Gracie, there's definitely something there.. less
