review 1: Read Deadly little Secrets (bk 3) first which was a definite 5 stars and a re-read. Seems as if Jeanne Adams just got to be a great read by the 3rd book. Dark and Dangerous (bk 2)was a pretty good read. Would have liked a bit more romance between Caine and Dana. The surprise was the author did a terrific job with writing Xavier. Usually kids are written so whiny or are so fictionally unreal, i.e. "goodie, goodie". The plot and the characters are well written. I would definitely read Deadly Little Secrets first then Dark and Dangerous (bk 2). You can skip Dark and Deadly - just silly. Although these books are not part of a series. Looking forward to the next book by Jeanne Adams. Hopefully she's hit her stride and the next book will be just as great as Deadly Little Sec... morerets.
review 2: 4.5 stars. Wow, a great realty-based, action-packed romance suspense story. It kind of reminded me of those movies starring Jodie Foster, you know the ones with edge-of-your seat action and suspense, a smart and realistic heroine running for her life, and a tight realistic plot. No Navy SEALs or damsel in distress in this story. The heroine is trying to escape the clutches of her drug lord ex-husband, who wants her dead and their son as an heir to his illicit business. The hero is an FBI agent who has been working undercover for years trying to bring the drug lord down. The romance starts slow as the book focuses on the plot and action, but about half way things begin to heat up to sizzling. I can't believe this was a debut. I enjoyed it!! less
