review 1: This book was okay. The little boy in this book speaks dinosaur so this means he doesn't have to use manners by saying thank you or please or may I. He gets to just go around roaring and growling at everyone to get what he wants. He realizes pretty quickly that people do not want to be around someone who behaves this way. Then he meets some other dinosaurs who say may I, please and thank you and realizes that he can still speak dinosaur, but that he still needs to use his manners. It has a good message about using manners, but I was not big on the story itself.
review 2: When the narrator's mother has had enough of his dinosaur roaring and crashing about the house, she banishes him to the back yard. There he is free to speak dinosaur as much as he wants. E
... moreventually, some of the neighborhood children join him where they play games with his little sister, all of them speaking dinosaur, and all of them behaving politely--just as good human dinosaurs should. The text will appeal to any young reader with an energetic nature and a little imagination or any dinosaur lover. The pen and ink and watercolor illustrations are fun to study since they shift from the shadows of dinosaurs on one page to the actual dinosaurs themselves and then to children wearing dinosaur masks on another page. less
