The first thing I need to do is to sing the praises of this AU. Not just for the authour’s ability to keep it all interesting and keep all of ARMY hooked, but also because the AU ha really brought ARMY together in such a beautiful way. Its really so so beautiful SO THANK YOU AUTHOR-NIM!!!!!
So most Twitter having Army will probably already know what is going on from the title of this blog post. However if you for whatever reason don’t know or stumbled upon this post randomly let me explain for you. BTS OUTCAST is an AU (alternative universe) created by Twitter user @flirtaus.It’s an interactive game wherein Twitter users can vote on actions that the characters ( the members of BTS of course ) take and get to see how this unfolds.
PlotSo the main character is Min Yoongi, who has joined the new hit game Outcast, but soon finds that the game is rather creepy and the players of the game are missing players of the game and HE SEEMINGLY HAS CONTROL OF THEM. It gets progressively creepy and scarier from there.

TheoriesOkay now let’s get into the theories behind this thing.
So right now what we know is that the health bar is connected to the battery of the players mobile phone (something that takes Yoongi freaking forever to understand, like who tf doesn’t keep their phone charged anyway) and of course there is the loophole that the phone cannot be charged while playing the game (as explained by our ever wonderful author-nim) .
We also know that the missing people that have been reported in the news are somehow linked with this creepy game. The players that are under the control of Yoongi and Hoseok are all the names of previous players of the game…what could this mean, where could they have disappeared to? My thoughts are that the disappearances are directly related to the game. The creator is some sort of sadistic that is using video games to take their revenge (revenge for what I still don’t know but I think there must be some sort of backstory behind it). The gamers are just the unfortunate victims of his twisted almost Saw-esque game.
Another speculation is of course, WHO IS THE CREATOR. So a lot of speculation has been around Hoseok and his suspect behaviour. This has come about ever since the Yoongi and Hoseok synced their games and we’ve seen Hoseok seemingly ignoring Yoongi’s request for help.
Not only that but he seems to have a lot of information on the game itself, for example, he is the one that hints a correlation between the game and the phone battery percentage. ALSO, people suspecting him because of his interest and knowledge of the ongoing missing people’s case somehow linked with the game. The news of the game broke at 9:15 AM but the Hoseok let Yoongi know about the case a whole 3 hours before at 6AM. Also, there is the whole synopsis of the game, the idea of
‘a lonely guy that feels he isn’t loved and creates a society of his own that messes with people memories’
(I personally felt that this was like a shout out to Arkangel->Black Mirror S4E1, so exhillarating)
After all, Hoseok does say that Yoongi is his ‘only friend’ does this imply that he is lonely and perhaps vindictive enough towards the world to create this inhumane universe? Hoseok also is the one that initially warns Yoongi against games but he seems somewhat interested in playing the game. At least more interested in playing than someone who just that morning was warning to be ‘better safe than sorry’.
I can understand why this may all seem weird and cause people to point towards Hoseok as perhaps being somewhat involved with the game, and at first, I doubted Hoseok myself and felt that if he was not the creator he at least knew more than he let on. However, I think that Hoseok himself is going through the same sort of confusion within the game as Yoongi. First of all, he also thought that Yoongi was ignoring his requests for lives. Perhaps the Creator is messing with their interaction to make the game harder and to break their trust in each other? Also, Hoseok does remain tentative about the game and warns Yoongi to be safe when playing the game. It’s possible that whilst Hoseok is cautious he doesn’t really believe that what’s happening on the news would ever translate into their own real life and so is less worried than he (evidently) should be. TO BE HONEST WE CAN ALL BE LIKE THAT SOMETIMES, LET’S FRICKING STAY SAFE ONLINE AND NOT DOWNLOAD WEIRD ASS STUFF ONLINE #MYDOL. Okay and also in term of the News broadcast, he might have seen it on the news and then they tweeted that after the initial broadcast…that’s possible right?
Anyways, I dunno, maybe I just wanna defend my mans till the end but I just refuse to subscribe to the idea that Hoseok is the creator, I just can’t do it LOL.
I do however think that there will be another character introduced i.e the CREATOR, I personally think author-nim has, in fact, kept us occupied with doubting Hoseok, and we haven’t really considered any other options for who the creator could be. BECAUSE SHE HASN’T GIVEN US ANYTHING TOWARDS HIM. That is other than the Creators little rants at the end. Which in itself is a clue? It’s not one of the boys because we’ve already been introduced to all of them.
So what if the Creator of the game, is the man that created BTS. Yes, people, I am talking about the one and only HITMAN BANG. He is in the background quietly watching over and (obviously in a less sinister way than the game) controlling the boys. This could be a dark and twisted allegory for the relationship between Hitman Bang and BTS and BIGHIT.
So now I MAY just be in need of sleep and rest and stressed but I really do think that’s what it is. I think this would be super interesting and creative if it was. Of course, I can’t wait to see if I am right or wrong. This blog post was cut short because I am actually tired AF and whilst there is so much I want to talk about and discuss and theories swirling through my head, I actually have work to do tonight and Pied Piper is reverberating through my head making me feeling mad guilty (LOLOLOhelpLOLOLOLOL)
