review 1: Wow! This was quite a story. It was sweet and heartbreaking and satisfying all at the same time.Overall, I found the Charlotte Chronicles to be a beautiful mix of love and family. Behind the story of two families growing through life together, there existed a young, innocent romance that blossomed into a forever love. Of course, that relationship was not without its challenges, but in the end, it all came marvelously together.About the Characters...Charlotte: This girl/woman was not only a fighter, she was also a survivor. The odds were stacked against her, but instead of crumbling and resting in brokenness, she endured and rose from the ashes. I really liked her. The way she fought for her true heart was a tearjerker. Nathan: I adored him!!! He made some stupid choices a... morend ended up in some ridiculous situations, but he was a good guy who loved his girl. His unspoken vow at such a young age and then his vow/pledge on that special day of union - these were beyond romantic. Nick: I have got to know his story! He was charming. He came across as a man-whore, but he had a heart and a sensitivity and compassion that made him redeemable. I kept wondering who might have broken his heart.Lainey: She is someone I want to know. She was intriguing. I liked her sass and attitude, especially as it related to Nick. I know that the author indicated that her child came from a non-Nick relationship, but... Hmm...The Seals: Oh yes!Reese: He was the comic relief if ever there was one. I laughed my head off at that table/walk-in scene. He was loyal, fierce, and protective. I'm glad he switched his tune regarding Nathan.Charlotte and Nathan's parents: These folks were so likable. They worked and seemed both humble and grateful. I love how they rallied around Charlotte. No matter what, they were there for her.Rating: 4.5/5Recommend: YesAudience: AdultStatus: R (adult situations, profanity, sexual content)Chemistry/Intensity: YesConflict/Drama: YesSecond Chance Love Story: YesHEA: YesOther: I really liked this book. It was a contender for five gold stars, however, some of the content was quite raw and crude and it changed the game a bit for me. In fact, I found there to be such a massive shift between the language used in pre-Navy interactions and those after. I know Nathan went from "boy" to man, but I was unprepared for some of what he brought. review 2: I received this for an honest review... first off I need to say that although this is a spinoff of another series (I didn't realize that when I picked this book up) This book can be read as a standalone (I did) This is the first book I have read by Jen Fredrick and I have to say that it will not be my last. I am absolutely in love with these characters. Charlotte is 15 and facing the worst thing on the planet Cancer. Her best friends are Nick and Noah although she her feelings are much stronger for Noah (who is older) than for Nick. This story takes you through all their lives and what they go through as a couple and apart. I absolutely loved this because it shows you how young love can survive and of course my favorite Genre of all that wonderful Second Chance Romance... I was immediately hooked into this book and found that I had a really hard time putting it down.. I just really felt as though this was an amazing story and the author of this has a way of pulling you in and keeping you there!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE less
