review 1: Pig Kahuna is a little board book about 2 pigs, Fergus and his baby brother Dink, who walk along the beach collecting treasures. They only collect what washes up on shore because they are sure that there are terrible things hiding under the water. One day a surf board washes up. After they waited awhile for someone to claim it and no one did, they adopted it as their own and named it Dave. Things were great until Dave got washed out into the water and Fergus has to save it. And he makes a great discovery in the process. Sweet story and gentle encouragement for children to try new things.
review 2: What a great balance of cute and irreverence in both the story and illustrations. The characters are creative just like kids left to their own devices are creat... moreive. Which makes me wish kids were left to their own devices...more...than they generally are these days. So maybe this story can inspire more kids to be creative and maybe just maybe it can inspire more parents to leave kids to their own devices. less
