review 1: On the surface this book seems a little wacky, and it is that, but on a deeper level, it's actually kind of sweet. The theme of the book is new beginnings. The main character is struggling with all the change around her (she is now in middle school) and learns throughout the book that change is okay and it's life. There were also a few laugh out loud moments with the thirteen year old grandfather acting like his 76 year old self. Very enjoyable. I would recommend it to kids 8 and up.
review 2: I think that the story plot of this story is very interesting. While reading, this book reminded me of two movie I watched on Disney Channel when I was younger both with the same titles, Seventeen Again and 17 Again. As the story plot unfolds, readers are introduced to a
... moreyoung girl name Ellie. One day, Ellie's mother brings home a man, who Ellie finds out is here long-lost grandfather. Her grandfather, who is a scientist, transforms himself into a young boy around the same age as Ellie and they are able to bond. I would do a book talk with my students and encourage them to add it to their book boxes during independent reading time. I would hope that my students learn the same moral and value as I did, finding one's passion and imagining the possibilities. less
