review 1: After doing a lot of research on PTSD, this book was recommended as a great resource, as well as just an interesting story, and it is. Caleb is a very, very compelling person to shadow, and Jennifer Percy was pulled into his world enough that she herself ends up having some of her own stories to add to the book. This was more of a creative nonfiction account, and because of that, I feel that the latter third of the book falls apart. The theme is lost, the stories unravels at the seams and I didn't feel like it all came together in the end. Very interesting and engaging, but just not quite as well-written as I wish it had been.

... morein subject of this book - Caleb - is convinced that demons are the cause for what we would call PTSD and has established or become a part of a whole community of like-minded thinkers. Where I got confused was what the author's role was in it. Was she also convinced after spending so much time with Caleb that she too had demons? Or was she just playing along to get the "inside scoop" so to speak? This kinda ruined the book for me. I wish she focused more on just the community and less on her part in it. less
