review 1: As smooth as silk, this story glides along and wraps you up in the manufactured world of Sabrina and Jack.While there are, of course, subsidiary characters, their involvement is minimal and this suited me fine because it meant having an almost constant supply of interaction between the book’s misguided protagonists. The pair go together incredibly well, as they wind each up and attempt to appear convincing as a couple, which makes for easy reading and a book you don’t want to put down.Jack is everything you would expect in a character such as his: a player out to prove himself and intent on getting what he wants – but it’s fun to witness his shift in priorities. While Sabrina is strong, she’s more fragile and understandably damaged in the emotion department. I wo... moreuld have loved for the book to include a few steamy scenes, as Jennifer Shirk does such a great job of building the tension and chemistry between the two that this seemed like a natural step to take. Plus Shirk has obvious writing talent so it’s a dead cert the sex would have been written with finesse.However, the lack of steam (!) had no affect on my overall enjoyment and I highly recommend this to all romance lovers.review by Charlotte Foreman on behalf of BestChickLit.com
review 2: ***ARC from NetGalley in Exchange for an honest review***Sabrina and Jack get into an arranged relationship in order to secure a promotion for Jack and a reconciliation for Sabrina (to the fiancé who needed space). The relationship highlights, for both of them, what they really want and deserve versus what they think they want. The slow-burn, both in the physical and emotional, proved very engaging and entertaining. Witty and charming (internal and external) dialogue. Good supporting cast of characters. Cute. Funny. Good. Recommend. less
