review 1: Hating this book so far, and I'm not even halfway through. Besides the main character being extremely whiny and annoying, the entire book is a stereotype. I get that she's a food critic and that's why she's probably a little food obsessed, but recipes are a bit too much. Also constant thoughts and comparisons about food are annoying. It comes across as all fat people think about is food. Like they daydream about it all day long. Seriously. I'll stick it out to see if it gets better though, because I did have high hopes for this book.
review 2: This was an interesting premise of a food critic outed because of her size. She is left having to lose the weight or lose her job permanently. It's well written with great recipes throughout but the character so obvious
... morely needs a therapist to deal with all of her issues it is at times painful to read. While she does eventually "come into her own" you are still left with the sense that it's a house of cards. less

Predictable, but enjoyable. Sometimes you need a book like this!
