review 1: O.M.G.I loved it.It is always refreshing to read a book with a character that... you just don't like. The whole time I was hoping for her to be a goody tooshoos that is common for many characters in this type of setting, but Elara was bold and selfish and annoyed me to no end. However, when I reached the end of the book I did gain respect for her, and, as I said, she was refreshing for the story to go opposite of what I was wanting the whole time. Then again, if the story reached what I wanted they would all be happy and married and everything and the tension would be gone. Good stories don't work that way.Anyhow... I still loved it and Wilha was just wonderful in my opinion, especially since she literally had a huge character curve so you got to see the shy girl chang... moree. So congrats to Ms. Lundquist and please write quickly. VERY quickly for I am not the patient sort for waiting on pure awesomeness.
review 2: I honestly had a hard time putting this book down. Every time I did it was all I would think about. Elara was my favorite character and the whole reason why I love this book. The fantastical presentation of the two characters were brilliant, it's a book I would want to read again and again. Five stars and two thumbs up for The Princess in the Opal Mask and to the great author Jenny Lundquist. I look forward to reading the next installment! less

I liked both sisters (but non-princess one better). A lot of great character development.
