review 1: Who knew I would so like this book about a plight of a young woman who flees an abusive relationship and neglectful father in California only to find shelter, family and love in an Amish community in Iowa. This is a gentle love story about family love, love of life free of complexity, and love between a man and woman with broken spirits. The central character, Kate, make a decision to adopt the Amish ways when she realizes that the home she has joined is the first place she has ever felt love and peace. She meets Nathan, a proud and troubled young man who lost his entire family to illness. What follows is a touching story about a developing relationship between two people from very different worlds who find healing and renewal in each other. review 2: I missed being able to reread this story whenever I wanted and finally decided to buy it. And I'm so glad I did! I absolutely love the characters and while I may have read this as a fanfiction a long time ago, it was like reading a whole new story. I can't wait for the next book to come out and I'll be waiting patiently until it does. Kate and Nathan have a unique story and Jennyfer Browne told it well. Love, love, love this book! less
