review 1: This was an ok book. A little to far fetched for me. Being from different planets. However, the story line was good and it kept me reading. I got this for free because it was one of the new releases. Mila and Garrick are set up on a blind date and Garrick is a total jerk. He doesn't want to know her because he is fearful of her because of one of her paintings. Only, in the middle of the night after their disasterous date Garrick calls Mila about talking and they find out about each others powers. They eventually find out that they are twins, not biological, but power wise. The author does a good job of portraying what it is like to live in a world with powers that no one else has and be alone, not being able to tall anyone you are special. The story moves on to d... moreisclose that they are from a different planet and they were placed on earth to save their lives. But, there are these other aliens that are after them.
review 2: I am not sure I'm a knowledgeable reviewer for this book since my most-read genres are neither science fiction nor romance, and this book is an odd combination of the two. I didn't like the cover for the book. It's misleading.Mila and Garrick meet on a blind date for dinner at her house with her family, who set them up. Mila has an instant dislike for his rude behavior; Garrick is forcing himself to dislike this beautiful woman to stay distant from relationships because of his mental state. A week later they're in bed together. They discover together they are aliens, not with egg-shaped heads or long, spindly fingers, but abandoned on this planet, and two halves of one pair, with special abilities. They inadvertently find others like them, and a quest to rescue their race from the Neballats bent on enslaving their race begins. The beginning of the book seemed more plotless romance than anything, but having won this book on a Goodreads contest, I wanted to give it a fair shot and read the entire book for review. About halfway through the book, the more detailed science fiction part began, and I have to say those are the parts I enjoyed the most. Each of these people like Mila and Garrick have an opposite half of whatever gift they are endowed with. The group of them that do find each other and meet discover more about their race and go about trying to find others like them on other planets. This is the first in a trilogy, which I somehow missed until the end of the book. I would be interested enough to pick up the next one and see how things continue. less

I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. Good for readers who like sci-fi rather than paranormal.

Una lectura difícil al inicio, pero va mejorando. Reseña completa, más adelante.
