review 1: Beautifully written and disturbing in the right way- meaning the story slips you into another skin and life of heartache and unbearable consequence. I wanted to give the main character, Avery, a hug and cheer her on. McHugh draws out tension and leaves the reader unwound and restless. Her foray into the myriad dilemma of guilt vs. innocence and insanity vs. holding onto one's sense of self by their fingernails made me catch my breath and my skin itch for justice and a happy ending for the young protagonist. Well done, McHugh.
review 2: The writing is absolutely beautiful. The authors word are so powerful that this book completely unhinged me. I read half of the book in one sitting and I had to take breaks in between chapters because I was physically shaking.
... moreIt made me want to cry and scream and throw something at a wall all at the same time, but only a truly amazing book can do that to someone. I got it at a convention because the people at the stand said it would be fine for my age group. THEY LIED. It wasn't content that made it that way but just the pure intensity of everything. If you don't like intense themes in books then I don't recommend this book to you. less

Mahert
Domestic melodrama in the vein of V.C. Andrews (the good, pre-dead one). I dug it.
Vani
if you like criminal minds or similar shows then a very fitting book.
Agony
Story was okay, didn't like the writer's style at all. :-(
