review 1: WOW I have not read a vampire book like this EVER!!!It's Twilight meets True Blood & if you are a fan of either one of those vampire shows then this book is a must read.I could not put this book down & the story just sucks you in. It has every emotion you could think of throughout the whole book. I have never read a book quite like it for a fantasy. Jessica's writing is just fantastic & for her first book I was blown away. It's like Jessica has been writing for years. This story will leave you wanting more & I can't wait for the next book to this. Jessica is going to kill us wait for the next installment!!!Jessica is in my top 5 authors of 2013 & even better she is Australian. A MUST READ!!!
review 2: Wombstone by Jessica Roscoe is fantastic. It was an e
... morenjoyable read from the beginning and it didn’t take me long to get into it either. I have read several vampire books in the past and all of them were different and really great. Wombstone has just been added to my list of awesome vampire books. Mia Blake is a beautiful 17 year old girl from New Jersey. She attends and lives on campus at Blair Academy, a preppy and expensive high school. She is a senior and is on the track team. Running is a sport that she loves to do. Mia has been filling out college applications and planning her future. Most of Mia’s life hasn’t been that great growing up. She was very close to her dad until he recently passed away and her mother wasn’t around much back then, so she doesn’t have much to do with her now. Mia is parent less and on her own, but she does have her best friend, Evie and a wonderful boyfriend Jared in her life. One night after leaving campus, Mia’s life is turned upside down and will never be the same. This is where Mia Blake’s story begins about being kidnapped and taken away from her home.Mia is very scared as she doesn’t know where her kidnapper has taken her. She knows that she is in a room in some building and that she is not alone. A young teenage girl, in the room with her, speaks up and tells her that she has been there for a long time. She tells Mia that they are not the only girls that were held there. Soon enough, Mia’s kidnapper shows up. He is a young handsome man name Ryan and he takes her to their boss Caleb, who is a very bad man. Mia has never believed in vampires but then something happens to change everything for her. She must escape this nightmare and get away from both Caleb and Ryan. With a little help from Ryan, they both finally escape starting their journey together. While they are together on this journey, Mia and Ryan have some kind of an attraction for each other but it is very complicated. Mia still doesn’t care or trust Ryan because he was responsible for what happened to her. Ryan told Mia that they have a bond and that he is responsible for her safety. I wonder what is going to happen with Mia and Ryan and will Mia ever learn how to trust him with her life. While I was reading, I could feel the fear, pain and anger that Mia Blake felt throughout the nightmare that she was in. All she wanted was to be normal again and go back to her old life in New Jersey before she was kidnapped, but she knows deep down that it isn’t going to happen. Will Mia ever get through this nightmare that she is in? Will she be able to accept her life the way it is? Jessica Roscoe has done an awesome job writing Wombstone. I have really enjoyed reading it and I am looking forward to reading the sequel. This is different from any of the vampire books I have read so far and I would definitely recommend Wombstone to all my friends. less
