review 1: simply a romance.....does exactly what it says on the book cover. It was a gentle ramble through hearbreak and healing and letting go of ghosts of the past and look to the future with the right man. Skip was at times so unsure of himself, I wanted to smack him, even after all the efforts from Paul to show him otherwise. There were many moments throughout the book that had me laughing out loud, Skip's Mum, Skip's sister Katie and his best friends Faith & Johnny -he being the main instigator of the smirk-fest! It was simply a fab read, even at the WTF moment at 95%!!! I just love it, no angst, little drama, HEA, all good!! Highly recommend!
review 2: A Simple Romance is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed the way the story flows. Skip leaves town a... morefter his relationship fails and goes back home ... His mom received him at home. I have to say the character is hilarious , how she makes Skip blush with her witty banter. After deciding to stay in town Skip starts working at his old high school. There he sees Paul again ... His crush back then. Paul comes from losing his relationship too , but different reasons from Skip.They start the friendship back ...Eventually they get involved but Skip has plenty of doubts. Because of this Skip almost looses his own chance of happiness.Love the secondary characters too...Great book ... less
