review 1: 3.5 starsI don't think I have ever read a book where I wished so much for the characters not to have a happy ending. I felt a disconnect with them so much just because they where all so very cruel....I mean ever single character was just unreddemable and were just so emotionally void with the exception of anger and hate. They just wanted to kill everything in their sight that I wanted them all to die at the end. I am all up for kick ass heroines but I found Melody was too much and I have read booked with cyborgs as the leads where they displayed more emotion than every single one of the characters. I didn't feel too good after I finished this book and don't know if I would read the next in the series but I will wait and see. That being said the book was action packed and ... morefast paced. 3.5 I hate the hero/heroine stars.
review 2: When you think the police should really stop pestering the mafia and no matter what happens you back the Boss, you know you’ve got it bad.Well, that was me, reading Ruthless People. Of course selling drugs, killing people etc. is forbidden/awful/amoral (take your pick) but you still can’t stop cheering for team “Giovanni-Callahan”. That’s how gifted J.J. Mac Avoy is.To make it short, you should absolutely read this book if you:-love mob stories;-get high on “out of this world” strong heroine kicking butts or any other anatomy parts like she is eating ice cream, even her gorgeous husband’s butt. And kicking is when she is in an exceptionally good mood…;-want to read about sub plots and secondary character’s dark secrets;-like to take cold showers (honestly, not what I like but a necessity) because you’ve just read violent hot sex scenes;-want action, action and more action.If you can’t stand all or one of these above, pass your way.I will now watch Amazon and Goodreads like a hawk to dive in the second book as soon as it’s published and it can’t come soon enough. Miss Mc Avoy, if you ever need reviewers or even beta readers for the second installment, my door is wide open (I can always dream). less
