review 1: * ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW * The Untouchables by J.J. Mcavoy is the second book in the series Ruthless People. I have absolutely fallen in love with these books!!! This book has drama, mafia ties, blood, sex, and you get so caught up in the story it will be hard to put down!!! Melody is now the wife of Liam Callahan, an Irish Mob boss with his hands in practically everything. From running the Italian Mafia, it's nice to get a bit of help from her husband. However, she is used to doing everything for herself. She finds her husband is keeping some very important information from her, information that can change the way she sees her past. On top of that, she is helping her sister in law embrace the way the Callahan family way by dealing with some past d... moreemons. Melody is one bada$$ boss that will always get her way. Even if it's through her husband. A quote when meeting Liam's grandfather...."Old Man, you're in my house. That makes you a fucking guest. I don't owe you shit and you will respect me if you want my respect. My name is Melody. Mrs. Callahan if it suits you, but...” She leaned in until their noses were almost touching. She was shorter, but the black heels helped. "If you ever call me a cow again, I will kill you painfully slow. I don't care how many motherfucking body guards you have." Liam Callahan loves his wife. He understands why she has such a hard time expressing her feelings towards him. She never received loved growing up. He knows though, she loves him. When he is talking to Melody of the phone after she went to pick up a woman they wanted to interrogate, in a split-second, he hears the windows shattering, the grating sounds on metal, and finally a chorus of screams. He finds his wife in the hospital with three gunshot wounds and he is absolutely livid. There are three things you do not fuck with, his business, his family, and you sure as hell did not fuck with his wife. Liam will move heaven and hell to protect and exact revenge for what he loves and cares about. A quote from Liam towards Melody..."The first time I kissed you, I was shot in the thigh. The first time we had sex, I was shot in the arm. You seem to like me bloody, Mrs. Callahan."The story has multiple POV's from different characters. It gives you a closer look into the story. What I absolutely loved about this story is that there is always something going on. It was really hard for me to put the book down and when I did, I wanted to jump right back into it!!! The author has an amazing writing style. I loved all the drama and blood and sex!!! I cannot wait to read the third installment to this series!!! I have to give this book a FIVE STAR rating!!!!Written by Whitney for Summer’s Book Blog.
review 2: Review: The Subject Matter: Once again, we are thrown back into the world of violence, murder, and sex. This is still a very heavy dark book, yet it has a lighter side to it.The Writing/Pace Style: The writing style a and pacing of this book is still amazing. I didn't see any changes in writing and the pacing is very fast. The Story Overall: I love the story and plot!! I really how we see different POVs of the other characters and it adds another element to the book. Overall, I give it a 5 Stars because I was blown away once again. I look forward to reading the next book. Questions: -Will I recommend this book? Yes. - Will I continue on with the next book? Yes. less
