review 1: This book was good. But I don't think it's very memorable. The middle class descendants of a wealthy landowner open their Irish castle to the public while moving to a cottage on the property. After a tragic accident everything falls apart. All the characters were well drawn, I'm just not sure how interesting they were. It was a fascinating circumstance, but it was a slight book and I'm not sure we were really given enough time to dig in deep. It was a good book but my difficulty in reviewing it is probably telling.

I would have liked to have seen the book end on an up note, but it wouldn't be keeping with the story or characters. less
