review 1: I thought that this book was too boring and jumped around too much. Very hard to follow. If you like facts and trivial information, then maybe it would be more interesting. I did like the bottom line, the reason for the book, which I believe was to inform the reader about Yucca Mountain and the travesty our government caused when using it as a nuclear dumping site. I'm more into adventure and excitement, not factual books.
review 2: This was my first time reading a book by D'Agata and I was pleasantly surprised by his ability to spark my interest again just as he was losing me. His lyrical writing made the book an easy read and created imagery that added to his constant investigation. My only complaints with his writing style is that the inclusion of long lists
... more, although potentially dramatic, annoyed me more than it added to the story. Overall I would recommend this book to someone as it always kept me wanting to know what else we were going to find out. less

A divergent, troubling, and truth-twisting literary essay.
