review 1: Well written, and at times extremely suspenseful. However, my greatest problem was the early introduction of a character that you perceive as the main protagonist and yet, you don't' see them again until the end of the book. While the layering of back story was intriguing and at times, dark and brooding, the book stalls in the middle and only picks up with a rather anticlimactic ending. If someone is a fan of English ghost stories, I'd recommend The Woman in Black by Susan Hill over this.

... moreotagonist as amateur detective who put it all together. When I am left feeling I was held in suspense and that there was a satisfying conclusion to a book, I must give it all the stars there are to give. I highly recommend The Seance and it is currently available (12/29/13) in the bargain books on Amazon. Worth it for sure. less
