review 1: I received this book from a goodreads giveaway. The book was a short, thought provoking read. Unfortunately I didn't feel like the questions and ideas in the book were presented in a way that stuck with me like other titles I've read in this genre. Plus the interactions between the characters in the cafe were too one dimensional. As a reader you were supposed to accept their abilities without any explanation or back story. The one analogy I did enjoy was about a sea turtle. Overall I don't think "The Why Cafe" should be dismissed. It's like life gently flicking at the back of your neck saying, "Hey, you! Why are you here?" It gets your attention!
review 2: I won this book from "first reads" awhile ago and I'm sorry it took me so long to read it! A goo... mored quick read that asks the question "Why am I here?" There are stories told to John about a green sea turtle, a fisherman and others that have you thinking about how you're living your own life. This is not a preachy book, instead it's a book that has you taking a look at your life and asking yourself "Why am I here?" and What is my PFE? (Purpose for Existing) You could easily find yourself thinking about this book and these questions long after you've finished the book. It's, also, a book you may just want to re-read in 6 months or a year! less
