review 1: This was a fun book and made me respect John Stockton even more than I already did. I enjoyed learning about his youth in Spokane, Washington, and I also enjoyed learning about his college and NBA years. What a career! Granted, this book is not a page-turner; there's no "dirt" and no wild, crazy stories. (There are plenty of fun, light-hearted stories, though.) But that's what I liked about it. Stockton is just a good, decent guy, a family man who values his wife, six children, and religious beliefs more than anything else. He also happens to have been a great basketball player for a lot of years. By the way, my favorite chapter in this book was all about fatherhood, with a pretty powerful "sermon" about abortion--strong beliefs from a good man!
review 2:
... more If you love John Stockton then you'll like this book. I don't know if anyone will love it though. I grew up in Utah and have also live in Spokane, WA. I knew the places John talked about. I remember the events that are in this book. This book was about my childhood hero. I gave it 3 stars. If you love Stockton more than me then you are his wife and should give it 5. I think most people will like the book less than me, or don't read very good books. less
