review 1: Nick Lombard goes back to Port Bliss for his mother's funeral and sees Clea Rose. Nick and Clea fell in love in high school and share a son. He has never seen his son because he was sent to prison for ten years and just got released. Clea has moved on with her life, raised their son alone and is engaged to (Robert) the man who sent Nick to prison. When Nick and Clea see each other again, they realize they still have strong feelings for each other. Nick also wants to meet his son and be involved in his life. James did a wonderful job with character development. I felt I really knew Nick and fell in love with him too. Clea was a strong woman but I didn't connect with her. The secondary characters were very clearly written also. This book kept me captivated. All the twis... morets were amazing.
review 2: I admit that this story did not hold my interest completely. However, I was able to finally get to the end. I would have to say that the plot was not too terrible. It was more the relationships that seemed to irk me and that is mainly because it made the females appear either snobbish and money hungry or just plain stupid and malleable to the opposite sex. I loved John and was happy to find that he was rebelling against his parents. Overall the book was okay, I did not have to force myself to finish reading it which was a plus. less
