review 1: This was better than the last two historical fiction books I read, but there are very few historical books I do like (the Whyborne & Griffin Series being one of the few I like)...that being said at least I was able to get through this one without wanting to claw my ears (I listened to the audiobook) out...except for a couple of parts. *sighs* it seems like there has been a surge in the amount of historical and dystopian books and I am not particularly fond of it *sighs* It's nothing personal, they just generally aren't my favourite...unless they are written really well.
review 2: Quite the disturbing story about Flynn, a reporter, who works on his latest story in the early 20's about a massacre in a small town in the US. At the boarding house he meets the young
... more Julian, who works as a medium. In the same area a couple of murders took place and Julian foresees the last one which gets him into the focus of the cop's attention. And while Flynn doesn't like the show of Julian he starts feeling attracted to the other man who is under some kind of spell by his grandfather. A lot of things come together until you get a very quick showdown in the end that is supposed to settle things, but this fast turnout of events is a little hard to buy. less
