review 1: Book #33 of 2011Ah, Finally Quent and Zoe! These two have been getting together since the first book and they finally get to spend some real time together! Zoe is one kick-ass heroine and it is interesting to read about her resourcefulness. The other heroines have come from or lived in Envy, but Zoe was out and about on her own. Some interesting developments in this one too towards the end...

Zoe, the heroine, was extremely excellent. She was tough, and sexy and spent a lot of time saving the hero instead of the other way around. Still, she didn't fall into the trap that so many action heroines experience, in which they deny all emotions and femininity. Zoe's secret hideout is ultra-feminine and she can cook like no other. I didn't like Quent as much, but, as in many romance novels, he becomes a better person through his love for the heroine and he grew on me in the end. I was amused by how often they stopped in the middle of some serious zombie battles to have hot monkey sex, but I didn't really mind ;-). Somehow, the zombie apocalypse/romance pairing worked perfectly in this series and I look forward to reading more by Joss Ware. less
