review 1: Leah moves to Charleston, SC for the summer to escape after a break up; she meets Drew -- am intriguing 25 yr old hottie and a relationship with him ensues.I liked the banter between Leah and Drew and that's probably the only thing I liked... that, and that there were next to no typos or serious grammar issues.Without spoilers it's hard to get into what I didn't like in this book. Drew's choice of "profession" isn't exactly the most reputable. He did in fact lie to her about what he does. But she follows him at various points as he pursues his profession. And that's where things get wonky for me.This didn't exactly end on a cliffhanger, but there are some issues that are unresolved... the ending was rushed. And the title (No Limits) indicates that there might be a sec... moreond book or that this is part of a series somehow. Although I'm not really sure what the title means exactly.There is not a great deal of serious drama in this book... no angst or real emotional pull. I felt for her situation, but didn't really feel her pain and that's an issue with the quality of writing, not the situation that the author devised for the character.
review 2: The blurb on this one sucked me in and at the time I was really really looking to fall in love with this book. That just didn't happen. First off, I want to state that the writing wasn't the problem, nor were there glaring editing problems. So kudos to this new-to-me-author on that round. However, I found it hard to connect with these characters and I felt there was too much missing information or that the timeline didn't flow well in explaining things past or projecting things future. There just didn't seem to be any glue holding this story together. The "no gambling if you never lose" excuse never really made much sense to me, along with a bunch of unbelievable hurdles to overcome. 'Nuff said -- it just didn't work for me. less
