review 1: Zombie apocalypse story written by someone with wilderness survival and military experience - what a perfect combination. It wasn't the most polished writing, but a solid story that moved at a good pace and kept my interest the whole time. Some nice bits of atmospheric description, but mostly a fast-moving story, which is a perfect balance, I think. What I really enjoyed were all the details about wilderness survival and how a military person would approach the situation. The plot thickened quite a bit toward the end, and I am excited to read the next in the series.
