review 1: Uggh! Such a struggle to read. The constant repeat of the same information over and over and over. I could understand a mantra, but really, you take out the constant trying to get a grip on herself crap and you might have an antaganistic short story.Kat Jones had struggled to not become what her mother and grandmother had been. She tried to use modeling as a way to dig herself out of poverty without turning to sex, drugs, and alcohol as a way of earning a living. A run in with Angelos Petrakos looked like a life changing opportunity to break the cycle, but a crazed photograher and Angelos backing out forced her to become Thea Dauntry.Sorry, but she really was not out of the pit she was in when Angelos came in to her life. The changes she made afterwards really would have ... morehad to be made anyways. Blaming Angelos for her 'fall' just didn't cut it.Angelos had set out to destroy a theiving whore. She wasn't a whore, but she DID steal. Then, she did lie about it. Isn't she responsible for some of the anger he threw her way? Of course, he goes way over the top on tearing her down. Supposedly to try and get to know what makes her tick. But the entire thing was just plain BLAH! In the end, they find love and marry and live happily ever after.
review 2: Surprisingly this turned out to be a pretty good story. I wasn't sure at first while reading this one. At first the heroine annoyed me a bit but then the hero took the cake as a class A jerk. However, as the story progressed I began to like both the hero and the heroine. Once they were in the Swiss mountains the story really got better. It was nice to see a peaceful time between the hero and the heroine with no fighting, etc. There were some nice angsty moments near the end after the first love scene. Quite dramatic if a bit OTT. :) However, I enjoyed it.Angelos's grovelling was excellent. I truly felt like he was ashamed of his behavior and hated himself for it. Sometimes when there is a hero grovelling scene, it still feels like he blames the heroine somehow. Not in this story. His love really shined through for me in this one.Julia James is sometimes a hit or miss with me. This one was definitely a hit. less

Weird book. More filled with stupidity and hatred than romance.
