review 1: Overall I really did enjoy this book. I did find it strange that Libby was able to do all of the tracking around in the jungle with how weak she had been. I guess the author was just inferring her determination to find her son as a reason why she was all of a sudden so strong. I do wish that whatever happened to Jagger was better explained. The way the book infers is that the cat had some type of black magic going on and has been changed to be a cat for the rest of his life and no longer remembers being a human at any point. But it really leave that part of the story up for any ones interpretation of what happened. They also play on the eagle with a chapter before telling us that Skye Knightly is a eagle shifter, so could that be her? Could she have something to do with Ja... moregger's "disappearance"? So even though I finished this book, I still don't feel like its finished.
review 2: Ok, I'm going to be honest. When this book first started, I wasn't all that sure what I would think of it (went in thinking that the female was going to be all "oh poor me, save me"), but I was pleasantly surprised when the females had just as much of an aggressive and protective vibe as the males in this series. Jaxon hunts his ex Libby, who has no memory of their time together or what made her leave him and their team. When he finds her, though he has plans to get revenge on her because of her part in his cousin's death, he realizes that there is something wrong. She doesn't seem to remember him, anything about them, or really anything else. She also seems to be sick. He decides to take her back to his team when someone takes a shot at them and he realizes that it was a setup. His darkest hunger is a fast, action paced, leave you wanting more kind of book and I, for one, am looking forward to the rest. less
