review 1: Hmm...not sure on this one. (Warning: Spoilers ahead.) The story held me, and I love that in the end the villain gets what he deserves, much like men who had Daniel thrown to the lions. I love all the characters, and I hope Julie writes more about Millie and her family. Honestly, I loved everything about this book until the last chapter where two characters perform a smudging ceremony to cleanse the house of "bad spirits" and "break the negative energy." It didn't really fit with the rest of the book and detracted from what would otherwise have been a perfect conclusion.
review 2: Millie marries Bump and off they go to a ranch in Colorado, unaware that a horrible secret will shatter their lives. When Mountains Move is written in present tense, but don't let tha... moret put you off. The story swept me away and I forgot about it by the second page. This author does an excellent job with pacing - just when you think you can take a breath, the story twists and the heroine finds herself in another situation. I especially enjoyed the smudging ceremony, an Native American tradition which reminds me of the use of incense in some churches. The heroine faces her challenges with such courage - I'd like to be her friend! less
