review 1: GAHH!! finally here. I have been waiting for so long for more Kat and West.I started reading and started laughing. I have missed these two so much. The banter between them, Kat and her witty charm and her sarcasm, it's a breath of fresh air and hilarious. We find Kat months after the whole incident with West on her way to the big city to attend a fashion school. Once there she gives it her best effort, but Kat does not fit in and she tries her best. In a great time of need she runs into the person she was hoping she would avoid, Luke. He helps her get her bearings on the city and shows her a few things. He still loves, cares and worries about her and she attempts to let him in as a friend. Over time they get close and she loses her home to a fire so she asks to stay with ... moreWest. The two put a set of rules in place and over time West helps her find herself again, the true Kat and opens her outta her shell a bit.West gets an opportunity of a life time, he gets signed and has to go on tour with his ex. Kat is not at all happy about this and finds it hard to fully trust West. Can these two over come all obstacles. Can Kat overcome her biggest obstacle? herself. You will have to read to find out. I must say though, I was VERY proud and impressed with both Kat and Luke, they changed greatly and made great strides. I love their characters and loved West even more in this book if it was possible. He was a sweetheart and what he all did for Kat and to help and make her comfortable, I am just in awe of this man. One of my favorite fictional men.I simply LOVED it and am so happy with this book. It's very sad to see it end and I hope maybe a short story is in the future to see where their lives have gone. There were a few errors, but that didn't take anything away form the story. Just wanted to make a note of that for future. "No. I invited you here because I couldn't bear the thought of losing you again." "I've only been here for two f****-ing days. Give me at least a week to go all Martha Stewart on it,""interesting Monday night you have planned for yourself there, boos. But I don't judge. Hell, add a can of whipped ream and it's my house every night."
review 2: I feel like I waited forever for Heading East. I follow the author on Goodreads, Twitter and I subscribe to her email list and I still didn't know this book released until a month later. Can you tell I am still upset about this? Moving on.... When I started Finding North I had no idea it was a two book series; I usually do not like unresolved stories. I was intrigued by the concept of Finding North and I was quickly sucked into Kat and West's story. Overall, I was happy with Heading East and I am proud of Kat. The ending and the epilogue was what I wanted and it was how their story should have ended. I am a huge stickler for time lines though and a few scenes in the book didn't match up with what happened in the scenes previously or somehow out of the blue something happened. It probably would not bother most readers but it's an editing oversight that drives me crazy. I was a little thrown with West's music career as again it didn't seem to fit into the story and then it was glazed over in the end. I am happy that Heading East finally released and I could have an ending for Kat and West. I think I just liked Finding North better. less
