review 1: I have to hand it to KaeJae Fox, she's written an "I Can't Put It Down" kind of book. Right from the start It grabbed me and I didn't want to put it down till I was done reading the whole thing. The story was Exciting, Scary, Arousing in some parts, Heartwarming in places too. The only downside for me is that it is too short. I wanted it to go on and tell about the panthers more. I hope there is a continuation of the story otherwise they sorta dropped the ball on a rogue panther, but I don't want to give away the story so no spoiler here.So Lauren whose sister and brother-in-law were killed in an accident had two little boys, twins. She's their only relative and is more than willing to come to their town and take care of them. She hadn't seen her sister since she'd gone aw... moreay to get married but they talked on the phone and wrote letters all of the time. The brother-in-law was a Shape Shifting Wolf, but Lauren never knew that. Didn't even believe in shape shifters. Tyler, the pack Alpha Wolf, was summoned by the town Alpha Female Bear, who was a pretty sweet lady and very good friend to Lauren, to take the twin boys out of town before their first shift so that the human residents of the town who don't know about the shifters, don't find out that there are shifters living in the town. Okay now when Tyler meets Lauren at her front door and claims to be the boy's uncle...First there's that mate attraction...second Lauren is suspicious of him...third Tyler isn't happy about the human women giving him a hard time, he's an alpha wolf after all...fourth Lauren isn't giving up her only living relatives to anybody...ever!Now doesn't that sound like an exciting premise? I liked it a lot. I hope you do too. Give it a read and see for yourself. It was fun and sexy.
review 2: Just finished reading and somewhat saddened by it. I tried reaching out to the author to lend a hand, only to find no way of doing so. I feel bad to comment here, but my hopes are she finds the message and connects with me. I'd love to assist her. I can not give it over 2-Stars, though with a few edits and tweaks, I find it would be well worth 5-Stars! My first read in this genre, and 199 pages later I am left at a loss for words. I struggled from page 1. It was rushed, awkward, strange conversations and random thoughts throughout the book. The book was flawed with editing nightmares-except instead of accept. Fancy words were used that were out of context in relation to the meaning of them. Run-on sentences and weird placement of punctuation only added to my frustration. Exclamation marks, question marks and quotations run rampant like wild fire. The story line is plausible, but I just didn't feel any connection with either Lauren, Max & Alex or Tyler. Again, I truly believe it was just too rushed, maybe because it was initially released into Chapters? As a complete novel, it does not flow like it should, and for this I feel bad. So sorry really-I wanted it so badly for you. Keep living your dream and writing; continue your growth! less
