review 1: I'm giving this a 3 at this present time. It is subject to change. I had to force myself to finish this book. I've been going through some real life issues at the same time as reading this and I'm not sure if that is affecting my thought process on it. I started it Sunday, read 50 pages, started to fall asleep and put it down. Monday read nothing. Tuesday read 100 pages. Wednesday nothing again. Today just forced myself to get through it. I do not like dragging books out longer than they have to be. I could not stay engaged in this book even though it was a quick read when I did pick it up. There was just something about the writing style and the myth plot of the story that I did not like. More instalove. Just wasn't enjoying it. Often times I just felt bored... more about it. I didn't really get the point of this world and that may be reveled in the next 2 books for all I know. I do own the next book, so I do plan on continuing on at some point. I just wasn't a huge fan unfortunately.
review 2: Der Idee dieser Reihe hätte ich auf jeden Fall 5 Sterne gegeben! Es hat etwas gedauert bis ich mich richtig eingelesen hatte aber gegen Ende wurde ich dann doch noch in den Bann des Buches gezogen. Es ist schön geschrieben, auch wenn es mir persönlich manchmal vielleicht etwas zu ausführlich wird und dadurch ein bisschen anstrengend wirkt (ich konnte das Buch nicht an einem Stück durchlesen und musste immer wieder Pausen einlegen). Gerade gegen Ende MUSSTE ich dann aber wissen, wie es weiter geht und habe es doch noch komplett durchgelesen. Stellenweise hätte ich mir mehr Gefühl und Intensität gewünscht aber ich fand es auch angenehm, dass es dadurch? nie zu aufgesetzt gewirkt hat. Was mir gut gefallen hat, war dass ich bis zum Ende nie mit Sicherheit sagen konnte, wem ich vertraue und wem nicht. Ich hatte zwar ein Bauchgefühl und Ahnungen, wurde zwischendurch aber doch verunsichert. Ich bin schon sehr auf die Fortsetzung gespannt. less
