review 1: This gripping true account of the previously "Untold Story Behind the Greatest Rescue in Coast Guard History," is extremely well written, concise, straight forward and engaging. There is just enough back story and fishing industry information to bring everything together cohesively, without micro-data overload or padding the pages with rabbit trail fluff. Additionally, it's apparent that Thompson took on this writing challenge with great passion for truth and ethics, as evidenced by her broad and thorough research, personal interviews, reviewing of official transcripts and reports from various agencies, and then providing detailed documentation for all the above. An excellent book, on all levels. Highly recommended to history or military buffs, or to those who enjoy realit... morey suspense.
review 2: This book was amazing!! It is a true story! I love true stories. Very suspenseful! I learned a lot about fishing in Alaska, about terminology for fishing in Alaska, how the life is for the men on a daily basis, about income. Very interesting and very suspenseful. Read this if you don't mind true stories about fishing in Alaska and rescue that happened off one of the boats and the coast guard had to step in. less

Very well written. An eye opener regarding fishing safety and lax enforcement of laws.

I love non-fiction books that tell a story of what not to do.
