The Portland Pack
review 1: Raven has waited years for Cale to feel ready to be claimed. However, when Raven arranges a romantic date intending to claim his mate, Cale rejects Raven. Realizing sending Raven away is a mistake; Cale must battle his own insecurities before he and Raven can find mated happiness together.Raven's Dream is the second book in the Portland Pack series. In the first book of the series, Liam's Happiness gives an overview of the pack members. I suggest reading this series in sequence. Cale came to the pack after he was instrumental in helping Liam escape an abusive alpha. Cale also comes from an abusive pack. Forced to submit to a psychotic alpha, Cale has years of emotional scars to overcome. Raven and Cale, as well as the whole Portland pack are the targets of the same fanatic... moreal alpha but for different reasons. For Raven, the psycho alpha wants revenge. For Cale, the psycho wants to continue having Cale under his control again. For the Portland pack, it is targeted for takeover or eradicated. Finally claiming each other as mates, Raven and Cale’s contentment is short lived before they, along with the rest of the pack, are embroiled in a battle with the psycho’s pack. Unfortunately, the psycho they sought was not part of the battle and so remains a threat. Kam Miller has created a marvelous action saga that I thoroughly enjoyed. The interaction between all of the characters is amusing and heartwarming. Raven and Cale are very sensual. I look forward to the next episode.
review 2: 3.45*This sequel got into the nitty gritty of the bad guy, abusing kids and Cale got to exert a little revenge, but it's not over yet people. Nope, the Big Baddie is still on the loose and he has threatened them all...Ok, as you can maybe tell, I am impatiently waiting for the next book in the series....This book is about Cale and Raven, I have to say, I did have an issue with their love/mating relationship.I know Cale was horribly abused and needed time to heal and feel safe, but Raven and Cale knew they were mates, did they ever sit down on those 10 years and say, we are mates and whenever Cale is ready we will move forward, nope, they didn't, shocking, I know! Instead Cale thought maybe Raven had something going on with Storm, even though he never saw anything sexual between them, again, did he say, hey, I know we are mates, but you are hanging on that other wolf a lot, what's up with that? nope, he doesn't. So, when Raven FINALLY does the big romantic gesture, does Cale finally ask why now? Why Me? Again people NO! It's not until the bad guys beat Raven within an inch of his life does everyone get their head out of their rears and mate like there is no tomorrow, and mate and mate and mate..well, you know, it's like the 10 years of friendship and stuff, they never talked about any of this? But, if you can ignore that part of it all, I liked it and it was a nice paranormal romp and feed my addiction for the mate/mine/growl/bite/come/ rinse and repeat. And I want to read all about Storm and Micah....like now! less
