review 1: My whole family has enjoyed these cute and humorous mangas about a little lost kitten named Chi who finds a home with the Yamada family. This book was less funny than previous books but there were some interesting plot developments. The 11th volume in the Chi’s Sweet Home series is scheduled for an August 2014 release.Chi has been spending more time outside and talking to Blackie and she is finally starting to figure out what a cat is. Chi struggles a bit with the fact that she isn’t like the Yamada family (human) but is a cat. She is also spending a lot of time playing with the kittens who are her siblings (although she doesn’t know they are her siblings yet). Chi also learns how to hunt with Blackie.Meanwhile the Yamada family is struggling a bit since finding... more the lost kitten poster on the street that is obviously a picture of Chi. Chi is a part of their family and they don’t want to lose her, but they feel guilty for keeping her when someone else is looking for her.We actually don’t spend a ton of time with the Yamada family in this book. We spend much more time with Chi and her cat friends. Some of the scenes where Blackie is teaching Chi to hunt are very funny. There are also a number of scenes with Chi and her siblings that are adorable. All that being said, this was probably the least funny book in the series so far. Things are getting a bit more serious here and I wonder if they will be resolved in book 11.The illustration continues in the style of previous books...well done, lots of pastel colors, and very cute. My whole family continues to enjoy this series; my seven year old son is a huge fan. He was really disappointed that we had finally caught up to the most recent book and there weren’t any more Chi books to read.Overall a solid installment in this series but not as humorous as previous books. There is some plot development in this book and hopefully we will get some resolution in the next book in the series. These books continue to be cute and there are still some funny parts. This whole series is highly recommended to cat lovers.
review 2: Just as sweet, cute, and unbearably entertaining as the previous volumes. As a cat-lover and kitty parent, I feel unable to express how much joy and hilarity these chapters brought me. You'd think after 9 volumes, Kanata-sensei would run out of cat-isms to explore, but she continues to illustrate more and more and almost as cutely as experiencing them with a cat in person. To go deeper into this volume, the story is becoming extremely compelling—more than simple life-with/as-a-kitten briefs—with underlying tension mounting after every chapter. I can't believe we have to wait until Fall 2014 for the next installment; it's going to be torturous! less

Chi's so cute, as usual! I'm sad we're caught up and have to wait another year for the next one! ;-;

Cute.Very cute drawings of a cat who discovers everthing, and mostly that she is not human.
