review 1: I always love when i can relate to a character in a book on multiple levels. Niki is a twenty something looking for something more to fill the void in her life. She works too much and has a hard past that torments her relationships with men. I like the fact that Baney includes themes of forgiveness and shedding our ˝old˝ and our past but also using those experiences to witness to and love the people we connect with in life. This story was very well thought out and I enjoyed watching the romance between Niki and Kyle blossom. Baney gives a pretty accurate protrayal of the messy way that relationships play out and I don't feel like its very fairy tale-ish like some books can become and create a false hope for some women and girls. Good read.

... morehly enjoyed Nickels, a Contemporary Christian Romance by Karen Baney. The connection to the characters took place quickly, as I found myself drawn in by the play between them. Ms. Baney has created a group of characters who compliment each other and make for a fun read. Though both Kyle and Nikki are dealing with tragedy and loss, they are fun to be around. The pace of the novel kept me interested, moving forward and made for a quick read. The conflicts within the story maintained just enough tension to propel the reader, but never really lost that playful feel of a contemporary romance. Ms. Baney's descriptive writing brought the Arizona scenes to life. less

Good story line, romantic Christian fiction. Enjoyed the romance without the sex scenes.
