review 1: "Where's My T-R-U-C-K?," by Karen Beaumont is a picture book about a little boy who loses his favorite toy (a truck) and his family's attempts to cheer him up and find the truck.The illustrations are cartoonishly exaggerated, described by others as "wacky," and not a style I particularly care for. The rhyming text has a good rhythm and flow and is easy to read aloud. The constant spelling of "truck" helps emphasize that t-r-u-c-k spells "truck" and that letters make up words. The text stands up well to re-reading, but my 4 1/2 year old is not very interested in this book and we've only read it a few times, usually at parental encouragement.
review 2: This book was a very cute rhyming book on a boy's search for his favorite toy. Everyone tries to help him find... more it or offer him other toys. He just wants his T.R.U.C.K. while he searches he has several mishaps that leave him defeated and about to give up.This book would be great for Kindergarten -2nd grade because of the text and illustrations. This book would be great to spark interest in boys. This could be used to show the importance of keeping your things put away. less
