review 1: I was lucky enough to have this book sent to me on my kindle from Netgalley as I wanted to discover how Donna Underwood would survive her mistaken release of the Demon King and his minions on an unsuspecting world at the end of The Wood Queen. In the course of the trilogy Donna's own powers have grown until she finds herself facing the seemingly impossible and formidable task of collecting the ingredients and preparing a new philosophers stone to save those she loves as well as the rest of the world. throughout the first two books in the trilogy I found the storyline a little trite and was often forcing myself to continue reading. However this concluding book was much more exciting and rather better written than the earlier books so I have no hesitation in recommending it ... moreand indeed the whole trilogy to lovers of paranormal romance and fantasy.
review 2: The third and final book in the Iron Witch series. Overall, I enjoyed this series, though I did think the final installment was a little disappointing. We were set up for this great quest--where Donna would retrieve the elements to create the Philosopher's Stone, but every realm seemed a bit lackluster and too easy. The ending felt a bit rushed--I think the author tried to do too much in this one book--but ultimately I liked where Donna ended up. less
