review 1: Changed my mind. I'm not fond of reading about relationships that include deceit. And thhis is the worst kind of deceit; she wants to get pregnant in order to produce an heir AFTER her husband has died so that she and her in-laws are not left penniless. She picks the man she has loved as the sperm donor, he also loves her, but she will have to keep her possible pregnancy secret from him if she is successful in order to pass off the child as her dead husband's heir.
review 2: Struggled with this book. I found the heroine annoying for her poor choices, lack of backbone, lack of communication. Even the hero was flawed for me and his attraction to Victoria was never well expressed. There was a lack of chemistry and the romance always seemed forced. I did appreci... moreate that Victoria had a lot of growing to do as a person but it was a long journey and, really, it was only in the last 50 pages or so that I felt this book found its feet. Others in the series-don't think I can persist. less
