review 1: I haven’t read too many books by Karen Templeton and I’m not quite sure why. The few that I have read, I’ve enjoyed a lot so I really need to get over myself and read more of her stuff. With the holidays just around the corner, I picked this story up and thought that it would get me into the holiday spirit and I think it has. This book follows April Ross and Patrick Shaughnessy. April came into a lot of money is a restoring her grandmother’s big ol’ house and turning it into a B&B. She’s hired Patrick to help with the landscaping and right from the start, there’s an attraction simmering under the surface for the both of them. Now, Patrick is scarred from the war and when April first sees him, she sees the side of him that hides the scars. When she sees the... more scars, she’s taken aback by them and Patrick sees her reaction to them and swears off of her before they even go there. But the more time he spends with her, the more he wants to put himself out there again but his insecurities about his new lot in life come to the surface time and time again.I thought that April was really patient with Patrick. She spent a lot of time trying to get him to be comfortable with the fact that she was attracted to him, scars and all. Throw in a little girl who is still hurting from the popping in and out of her life that her mother is doing, things are more than little complicated….but April knows what she wants and she spends the whole of this book trying to make Patrick see that he wants it too.It would have been so easy for me to become highly annoyed with Patrick and his attitude toward dating, toward April and toward well, everything in his life but Templeton did a great job of making me understand where he’s coming from and why he’s acting the way that he’s acting. When he finally allows himself to love and be loved by April, I grinned like a crazy person. This was an enjoyably sweet romance that I’m glad that I read. I definitely recommend.
review 2: A Gift for all Seasons by Karen Templeton 4 STARSA Gift for all Seasons is a cute romance at times I teared up and others laughed with them. Thier are a few love scenes that I skipped over.April Ross knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it. After the death of her husband April has a lot of money. April buys out her cousins part of the house that they inhierited from thier grandmother. April decides to remodel and turn it back into a inn. Her one cousin helped her with the decorating and her other cousin is going to run the restraunt.April decides to hire a landscaper company to make the grounds fit the inn. She is startled when she sees the landscapers scars from a bad fire on half his face. April realizes that she owes him a sorry and admits it.Patrick Shaughnessy works with his family in the landscaping buisness. He has gone through major burns and would have given up except for his little girl. Now he is a single father with a preschooler after his wife could not handle his scars. She also left him with his daughter while she went back to school.Patrick realizes that his daughter will be his only family that no one will love him besides his family.Lily is a cute preschooler who has issues with abandonment. Seeing her mother only for short times and never knows when. Lily also has tantrams like most 3 yr. olds.Sometimes Patrick has reactions to loud noises from the war. Also guilt for the soldiers he could not rescue.April has had little experience with dating even though she has been married. She worked through high school to help out her family. She is caring. I really like April.I would like to read more books from Karen in the future.I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.10/16/2012 PUB Harlequin 224 pages less

Very emotional story. It didn't suffer from the smaller format. Just loved it.
