review 1: I was really looking forward to this installment in the series, but I feel a little let down. Some of the plot development came along far to quickly. There should have been some more struggle, the struggle cultivated these characters so much already. Then getting to revealing additional abilities, that I didn't like seeing. I do understand that it have the needed impact to continue on, but I think it was displaced of could have been circumvented. I may reevaluate once I finish the third book in the series, but I'm hesitant to even purchase given the lackluster finale of this book.
review 2: I really enjoyed the story as it is a very different premise. Although the back story involves angels and demons, the novel isn't particularly religious, which would have b... moreeen a giant turn off for me. There was a good balance of paranormal, action and romance. There is also an adorable English bulldog. Who could resist that? I was very happy to go right on to the third book in the trilogy and will look for other books by this author.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to some grammar and punctuation issues. The author has an issue with the proper use of commas. The other problem was sometimes she switched from past tense to present tense. I also found a few typos and some incorrect words (they're/their, etc.) I guess I'm one of those grammar Nazis. I'd be happy to read any other books by this author, especially if she wanted to give them to me in advance so I could correct those issues for her as I read. less
