review 1: I absolutely loved this book. I read through this book in just 2 days and greatly enjoyed it. The main character Jansin was admirable and strong. The dystopian world destroyed by super storms called hyper canes got me thinking about the possible consequences of global warming. The world of underground societies was fascinating and a bit scary. This book had a complete ending but could go on and I'd love to read more of Jansin's world.
review 2: The description of the book made it sound really dystopian, and while there is an element to that, it is more of a science fiction book, and a fantastic one, at that! Jansin is a fantastic heroine, who is bright, adaptive and a ferocious survivor. I'm so disappointed that Strange Chemistry has folded and hope the author... more finds a new publisher soon, so I can read more about Jansin and her fantastic world! less
