review 1: I write my reviews in the five different categories: Cover/Title, Characters, Plot, Suspense, and Overall. I rate each of these categories 1 to 5 (1 being the lowest). CONTAINS ONE SPOILER IN CHARACTERS SECTION.Cover/Title: 4 out of 5I honestly thought that the cover was kind of cheesy however, it was romantic and it caught my eye. The title was the same as the place Paige worked so it fit with the story.Characters: 1.5 out of 5Paige was very boring to me. There was nothing super interesting about her. Justin wasn’t realistic at all. He was a nice guy, but just too perfect and unbelievable. This may be a spoiler, but I hated that just because there was a sex tape of Paige online (by the way she didn’t actually have sex), she acted like it was the worst thing in the wor... moreld. I didn’t understand Justin and Paige’s connection. It was all too unreal to me. The only reason I ended up finishing this book is because there actually ended up being some type of character development on Paige’s part.Plot: 1.5 out of 5First of all, when I read the plot of this book, it was very vague. The author did not give you too many hints or details to what Paige’s situation really was. Also, this story was poorly written. It did not give a good depiction of what first love really is like. The writing lacked edge and uniqueness and overall it was very weak.Suspense: 1 out of 5At the very beginning of the book, I predicted right away how the story was going to end. I kept reading just to see if it ended differently from what I thought was going to happen, but it did not. This book had nothing special about it. I feel like I have read books and seen movies like this 100 times.Overall: 1.5 out of 5Going into this story my expectations were very low. I got this as a free eBook because it sounded like something I might like. I was highly disappointed with this book. I am very hesitant to read anymore of Kate Perry’s writing. If you are looking for a contemporary with realistic characters, a well developed plot line, and great writing, do not bother picking this up.
review 2: This book was wonderful! I found this in the free section on iBooks and was so pleasantly surprised to find that it was a well developed short story with wonderful characters. Paige, the main character, was great. She was quirky and funny and her beauty wasn't gushed over which was nice. She was very put together and very bright, even when she was going through some serious stuff. Justin... dear god Justin. That boy was amazing. He was very laid back and smart and not compared to a god which was refreshing. He was very playful and incredibly sweet. The supporting characters like Darcy and Henry were great as well. Their roles and personalities in this book were a perfect fit and they made me smile on numerous occasions. I loved that this book had all of the mainstream quality and none of the mainstream bullshit. There was no love triangle or bipolar characters that love someone one moment and hate them, the next. The plot was great, the characters were great, and the writing was great aside from a few small errors. What more can you ask for from a free book? less
