review 1: 3.5 stars. I thought this was a pretty average book. Not that it wasn't good, but it wasn't spectacular, either. I liked the characters well enough, I suppose, but I wasn't really attached to them. I had a couple issues with the writing style, it seemed a little abrupt points. It's not a huge deal though. It is short, so it makes for a quick read. I finished it the day I started it. Overall, a cute read , but not at the top of my recommendation list. I really did like it, I'm just making it sound like I didn't, sorry! review 2: Sam is a dyslexic math whiz who finds comfort in numbers, not in words. When her unemployed mom finds work in another city, she has to move. In her new school, she finds herself taking AP classes and falls in with the smart kids. Having ... moreto take beginning Spanish and possibly facing special ed classes might ruin her façade, because with her new clique she’s hiding the fact that she’s practically illiterate. She’s good at memorization and distracting people when it’s her time to read, but the truth will spill out. There are ways to cope and seek help, although Sam can’t help but feel anxious. The author tackles an important issue with this well-plotted story. Sam is a great character and someone to root for. less
